Monolith of Time is our first album, a very heavy record, ranging from slow and doomish parts to blastbeats, guitars like a jackhammer puncturing your brain, and gloomy background vocals. Drums and bass are very clear and independent, enhancing the heaviness even more. The music has a somber mood all along the album, a mood in the vein of Incantation, Dead Congregation, Krypts, by the other hand, it also features lots of odd time signatures and elaborated arrangements.
The lyrics speak about themes related to ancient civilisations, their culture and their wars.
------------

about
Orthostat is defined as a large stone with a more or less slab-like shape that has been artificially set upright, such as Menhirs and other standing stones. The term is widely used by archaeologists to describe individual prehistoric stones that constitute part of larger structures.
Common examples include the walls of chamber tombs and other megalithic monuments and the vertical elements of the trilithons at Stonehenge.
Orthostats were also used as a symbol to mark graves of warriors dead in wars from old civilisations such as the Sumerians and the Celts.
lyrics
Bring your dead warriors
Bleak, piled in stacks
Cast'em into the earth
And raise the Orthostat
Release the bane of life
Departure from the flesh
Existence declines
Into the Orthostat
Tomb
Monolith!
Perpetual
Death!

These guys must have fun reading how people try to pigeonhole them into some genre. OK then: A bit of black, a bit of prog, a bit of - do I hear NWOTHM? over solid melodic death with haunted vocals. Excellent and the longer you play it the better it gets.
How come nobody mentioned the bass? YomaBarr
